Within our hand dyed yarn Collection is our new range of Sock Yarn UK. This is spun in Yorkshire and hand dyed in small batches in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK. Yak yarn is currently available in 20gram Mini Skeins, 50gram Midi Skeins and 100gram skeins.
All Yak yarn is hand dyed with natural dyes. This is one of my favourite yarns to dye, the rich blend of fibres provides a lovely base to dye, the results are deep beautiful colours with a heathered soft finish. The fabric has a lovley drape and is suitable for all sorts of acessories, sweaters and as there is added nylon great for socks.
Sock Yarn is also sometimes referred to as fingering weight yarn. Traditionally, yak yarn is a great choice for knitters looking for a luxurious yet practical yarn for creating warm, comfortable, and long-lasting socks but also for knitting baby clothes, hats, shawls, cowls, or other small projects.
Our new Hand Dyed Yarn Collection Pages have been launched with a signifcantly expanded and improved range of hand dyed yarn. Discounts are automatically applied in the Checkout - no codes needed.
The Introductory Offers apply to ALL Hand Dyed Yarn Collections/Products, including all Sock Yarns and Yak Yarns (but no other website products), specifically.
In addition to making indie hand dyed yarn, we offer natural dye craft courses and workshops. In an interview with the Knitter Magazine, the Knitter commented, "Taking inspiration from the landscapes of the Pembrokeshire coastline, Karen Morgan of FelinFach produces gorgeous, indie hand-dyed yarns". The Knitter's article is in the series on Artisan Yarn Makers and explores our processes for hand dyeing yarns with natural dyes and also our natural dye Craft Courses.
Complementing our hand dyed Yak yarn, we have handmade ceramic yarn bowls and leading brands in the knitting, crochet and crafting world, such as Cocoknits, Cohana, LYKKE, muud, Re:Designed and Thread and Maple. Also available are knitting, crafting and crochet books and magazines from world leading publishers, such as Faire and Laine.
Located in Pembrokeshire Wales, our ethos is defined in the three words...
NATURAL TRADITIONAL HANDMADE.
We are a proud supporter of Americymru, the Campaign for Wool, Global Welsh and Red Dragon America.
