There are broadly two methods of making soap.
Currently, all FelinFach handmade soap bars are made using the Cold Process Method. These handmade soap bars are natural, vegan and have not been tested on animals. Give your skin the treat it deserves, every day.
The Cold Process method is the traditional way to make soap by combining fat or oil with sodium hydroxide lye. Fragrance and dye colours are added to preference. This process is known as saponification. The melt-and-pour method of soap making uses pre-made soap, pre-fragranced and pre-dyed that is "melted and poured" to the shape of your choice.
Which process produces the best soap?
Ultimately, there is a choice and a matter of personal preference. All our handmade soap bars are made with the original and traditional Cold Process soap making method. This method of soap making fits well with our Product Mission of, Natural - Traditional - Handmade.
We also believe that in many ways, the Cold Process soap making method produces better, and in particular longer lasting soap. Melt and Pour soap, in our experience, is not as long-lasting as fully cured cold-process soap.
