Not all candle waxes burn at the same rate - some burn much faster than others. There are several factors which contribute to long burning candles including not only the type of wax, but the size and shape of the candle, the type of wick, and the environment in which the candle is burned. However, some types of wax are known for creating long burning candles.
The longest burning or longest lasting candles are Beeswax candles. Beeswax is naturally a harder wax than other types of wax, has a high melting point and as a result burns at a slower rate than other waxes. Here is a list of the longest burning candles, longest burn time number 1).
Apart from the choice of candle wax being used in candles, there are other factors that contribute to the long burning candles.
It is important to note that the wax burn time of a candle can also be affected by the size of the candle, the wick, and the way the candle is burned. For example, a larger candle will burn longer than a smaller candle, and a candle with a thicker wick will burn longer than a candle with a thinner wick. It is also important to trim the wick to 5 millimetres or 1/4 of an inch before each burn to prevent the candle from smoking and to ensure a long burn time.
By following these tips, you can enjoy your candles for longer.
