Introducing our handmade candles, crafted with love in the FelinFach Candle Studio in Pembrokeshire, Wales. These candles are eco-friendl y soy wax and shipped in plastic free, recyclable and biodegradable packaging.
Our handmade Welsh candles are made in small batches using the finest quality 100% natural soy wax, infused with a blend of premium high-grade fragrance oil recipes. Fragrance memory is quite a strong and evocative sense and we have named our candles for a feeling or place that we think the fragrance captures. Hand poured in Wales, a Welsh candle product.
Our 'Signature' candles are hand poured in a heavy bottomed straight sided matt Grey or matt White glass container topped with an oak lid that can also be used as a coaster for your candle when burning. We use FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) wood wicks as they are sustainable and have a lovely soft crackling sound when burning. 3 wick candles are also poured into glass jars.
We do not use dyes, parabens or additives and our products are rated vegan.
A Candle Chandler? - "a maker and seller of tallow, wax candles, and also usually soap".
We are a modern-day candle chandler, hand pouring soy wax candles using traditional methods and skills but also other fragrance items such as reed diffusers and wax melts. Our eco-friendly candles are made from sustainable and renewable plant-based candle waxes.
Wood wick candles are a great alternative to traditional cotton wicks, and they are a good complement to our handmade soy wax candles.
There are three main types of wood wicks - single-ply, booster, and spiral. Single-ply wicks are used in paraffin wax candles - we do not have any paraffin wax candles in our store. Booster or double wicks work well with natural waxes such as soy wax candles - all our candles are made with soy wax and we use the booster wood wicks for a cleaner longer burn. Spiral wicks work with all waxes and produce a lot of heat. - currently we do not use spiral wood wicks
Wood wick candles heat your wax evenly, allowing you to get the most out of your candle. Our wood wick candles flame equally on all sides, giving you a clean and even burn. Wood wick candles make considerably less soot than conventional wicks. Before each burn, trim off the charred part of the wick and you’ll have a clean, bright and even burn every time.
Wood wick candles burn at a slower rate than cotton wicks. Comparing a wood wick candle to one with a cotton wick under equal conditions, the wood wick candle burns more slowly and will last longer.
Similar to a log fire, wood wick candles generates gentle, soothing crackling sounds as they burn. This together with natural flame of your candle creates a super relaxing environment whilst burning your candle. The cut of a wood wick gives your candle a distinctive modern flame feel, further adding to the improved ambiance of any room. You just don’t get this with a cotton wick.
Our wood wicks are what they say, that is 100% wood. They are eco-friendly and sustainable products sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) mills. Wood wicks are more sustainable than cotton wicks, as they can be harvested with sustainable forestry methods, with thousands and thousands of wood wicks coming from a single tree.
Lastly and maybe not least, and very subjectively (!!!) we believe that FelinFach wood wick candles look more pleasing to the eye than a similar candle with a cotton wick.
It is always important to treat your candles safely and with care. Please note the follow candle care advice...
